Steve Binam and his wife Mel have lived in Jasper Missouri for the past 16 years. Steve works mostly in oil, but also in acrylic, watercolor and ink. Has has won awards for his art in Still Live, Figureative and Wildlife.
Steve studied at the University of Arkansas in the "Upward Bound" program where he was the art editor. Most recently he studied color theory with artists Theresa Rankin.
"My interest in art was fueled in the early 60's as a young child seeing all the colors and the small of Linseed oil in an artists studio west of Lancaster California. My style is realism. I paint what I see with an added passion of my mind's eye. A true to life style which is evolving. I find inspiration form the old masters as well as the living masters."

Koka Art Gallery is located in historic Carthage Missouri right
off of the square. Our art gallery has art from over 30 local artists and
are continually growing. We have rotating shows of different
artists and different mediums. We have framed art, prints,
pottery, jewelry, greetings cards and more available for purchase. We are located in Southwest Missouri and have artists from many surrounding towns including Joplin, Diamond, Jasper, Neosho, Nevada, and Carthage.

photography, but she also has beautiful landscape photography
and has a growing collection of Infrared Photography and black
and whites. |
